Efekti restrikcije spavanja na neurobiološke parametre

Sažetak

U modernom 24-časovnom društvu, sve veći radni zahtevi i promene načina života imaju za posledicu da ljudi tokom radne nedelje spavaju značajno kraće od sedam sati dnevno, što se smatra neophodnom dužinom spavanja za održavanje optimalnog dnevnog funkcionisanja. Epidemiološke studije su pokazale povezanost skraćenog spavanja i povećanog rizika od gojaznosti, dijabetesa, kardiovaskularnih bolesti i karcinoma. Osim toga, laboratorijske studije, koje su uključivale zdrave, mlade osobe, su dosledno pokazale da hronična restrikcija spavanja dovodi do velikog broja patofizioloških promena, uključujući povećanje inflamatornih markera i poremećaja regulacije glukoze u krvi, što ukazuje na potencijalne mehanizme putem kojih hronično skraćenje spavanja može uticati na zdravlje i dugovečnost. Isto tako, hronična restrikcija spavanja dovodi do značajnog smanjenja neurobihejvioralne performanse (merene Testom psihomotorne vigilnosti) i povećanja nivoa objektivne pospanosti (merene Testom višestrukog uspavljivanja) što može dovesti do ozbiljnih neželjenih efekata u javnoj bezbednosti.
