Sažetak
Tokom faze razvoja proizvoda, naročito u slučaju inovativnih proizvoda, dizajneri su se suočavali sa neprijatnom situacijom da su u obavezi da donose odluke pod uslovima, koje karakteriše relevantan stepen neizvesnosti i, pa čak i suprotno. Ova situacija je veoma česta u ranim fazama procesa projektovanja, gde nije u potpunosti definisan veliki deo spoljašnjih uslova. Isti je slučaj i sa dizajnerima alatnih mašina. Kao metodološki odgovor, u stanju je da popuni ovu informativnu prazninu, u radu je prikazan način korišćenja 'dokaznog sistema' kao alat podrške za dizajnere. Ovi alati predstavljaju neku vrstu ekspertskih sistema u kojima je znanje predstavljeno i obrađeno funkcijom teorije Belief (koja se još naziva Dempster-Shafer Teorija). Posle detaljnog opisa ove metodologije, rad je fokusiran na konceptualni dizajn alatih mašina, odnosno određivanje najboljeg strukturnog obradnog centra u fazi idejnog rešenja za prethodno definisane grupe drvenih delova koji se na njima obrađuju.
