Sažetak

Predmet autorovog interesovanja u ovom članku jeste odnos ustava i bioetike Definišući bioetiku kao naučnu disciplinu koja se bavi proučavanjem etičkih pitanja u medicini, prouzrokovanih biotehnološkom revolucijom i jačanjem svesti o ljudskim pravima, autor ukazuje da se savremena društva često opredeljuju da mnoge bioetičke dileme reše pozivanjem na ustavna prava i slobode. U raspravi o opravdanosti i dometima ove tendencije, autor koristi primere ustavnog regulisanja abortusa, eutanazije i kloniranja. U zaključku se navodi da izbor pravne "strategije" u rešavanju bioetičkih dilema zavisi kako od političke, pravne, kulturne i verske tradicije datog društva, tako i od vremenske distance u kojoj se traži odgovor prava na tehnološke i sociološke inovacije.
