Sažetak

(ne postoji na srpskom)
In an earlier article (Sociologija, v. XIX (1977), No 1) the author elaborated the conceptions of the Soviet group, led by N. Bucharin, and the British one, with J. D. Bernal as central personality, which have played the decisive role in the development of Marxist social studies of science. In this article, the presentation of Marxist activities during the initial stage of this development is enlarged by an analysis of E. Zilsel's ideas end a brief note concerning the Japanese historians of science. Further, it is pointed out that, though in some countries, e. g., in France, several favorable social and intellectual prerequisites for the emergence of Marxist sociology and history oú science had existed, this did not happen. Much easier is to explain why adverse socio-political conditions in other countries have prevented the appearance of these scientific specialties. This issue is exemplified by the situation in Yugoslavia before the World War Two. On the cases of E. Zilsel, who belonged to Social Democracy, neglect of B. Hessen's study, the analogous later attitude of the Communist J. D. Bernal toward his own ideas as well as of the politically provoked conflicts among Yugoslav Marxists dealing with science studies, it is demonstrated that the divisions within the International Labor Movement have hindered even the reception of ideas and research findings, not to mention the co-operation between Marxists appertaining to the confronted parts of the Movement.
