Sažetak
U Republici Srbiji u sistemu navodnjavanja je oko 3% korišćenih površina, sa izuzetno visokom i nepovoljnom strukturom korišćenja podzemne vode od 52%. Podzemna voda je ograničeni resurs. Procenjuje se da poljoprivreda kristi oko 70% sveže pijaće vode, što pokazuje na snažnu zavisnost poljoprivrede od dostupnosti vode. Očekuje se da će klimatske promjene vršiti dodatni pritisak na povećanje potrošnje vodnih resursa za 70-90% do 2050. godine. Prilikom izbora optimalnog metoda navodnjavanja treba uzeti u obzir potencijalne faktore zagađenja životne sredine usled navodnjavanja. Za dostizanje potrebne efikasnosti sistema navodnjavanje potrebno je da on bude zasnovan na principima precizne poljoprivrede uz korišćenje preciznog navodnjavanja (PI) i određivanja rasporeda navodnjavanja (IS). Parametri kao što su efikasnost korišćenja vode (WUE) i produktivnost vode (WP), najčešće se koriste za ocenu metoda sistema za navodnjavanje.
