Prilog istraživanju kvaliteta reza kod sečenja abrazivnim vodenim mlazom
Contribution to investigation of cut quality by abrasive water jet cutting
Abstract
Abrasive water jet cutting is one of the most modern and applicable non-traditional manufacturing technologies. Cutting tool is abrasive water jet, i.e. the narrow water jet of high speed, generated by stressing of water through the nozzle of small diameter, which is followed by the added abrasive particles. Water jet transmits the kinetic energy to abrasive particles giving them the speed. Abrasive particles make machining like grinding. Due to the ability to cut more number of various materials without thermal influence, this technology is competitive for more number of industrial applications. The dominant characteristic of machining is the cut quality. Abrasive water jet cutting can produce tapered edges on the kerf of workpiece being cut. Tapered edges of the kerf and surface roughness can have limiting influence to the potential applications, especially if is needed to achieve the engineering tolerance required for the part or high quality of cut. In this paper apart of experimental investigations of cut quality by abrasive water jet cutting is presented.
