Corrosion of welded joints, Part II: Carbon and low alloy steels

Abstract

Corrosion forms of carbon and low alloy steels welded joints are presented in this paper. Metallurgical and mechanical factor affecting weldments corrosion in different environments are considered. The cases of stress corrosion cracking, galvanic corrosion, hydrogen embitterment etc. as well as their mechanisms are described.
