Rezultati hirurškog lečenja bolesnika sa supratentorijalnim kavernomom mozga i epilepsijom

Sažetak

Kvernomi su često bili neprepoznati uzrok dugogodišnje simptomatske epilepsije, kojoj se nije znao uzrok. Prikazujemo grupu od 32 bolesnika sa kavernomom mozga lokalizovanim supratentorijalno kod kojih se bolest oglasila epilepsijom a koji su hirurški lečeni u Institutu za neurohirurgiju u petogodišnjem periodu od 1998. do 2003. godine. Utvrđena je značajna korelacija između kliničke prezentacije epilepsijom i veličine kavernoma (Phi=0,683). Kod 22 ili 68,7% se radilo o medikamentno kontrolisanoj epilepsiji dok se kod 10 ili 31,3% radilo o medikamentozno nekontrolisanoj epilepsiji. Kavernomi koji su inicijalno prezentovani epilepsijom nisu pokazali sklonost ka masivnom intralezionalnom ili parenhimskom krvarenju. Nakon operacije, u toku perioda praćenja od 3 godine, postignuta je dobra kontrola napada.
