Rad je rezultat rada na projektu "Empirijsko istraživanje uloge međunarodnog prava u radu Saveta bezbednosti UN na primeru upotrebe sile protiv SR Jugoslavije 1999, godine" koji je autor realizovala na Pravnom fakultetu Univerziteta u Novom Sadu u periodu od 1. novembra 2018. do 31. oktobra 2019, a za koji je sredstva obezbedio Pokrajinski sekretarijat za visoko obrazovanje i naučno istraživačku delatnost APV (Projekat br. 142-451-3422/2018-02).

Sažetak
Empirijsko istraživanje međunarodnog prava predstavlja predmet sve većeg interesovanja u naučnim krugovima u svetu. U ovom radu je predstavljen primer jednog takvog istraživanja. Empirijskim istraživanjem podataka o pozicijama koje su iznete povodom upotrebe sile protiv SR Jugoslavije 1999. godine testirana je hipoteza o operativnoj ulozi međunarodnog prava u radu Saveta bezbednosti UN: da li je ono korišćeno u formiranju pozicija, u oceni situacije i u predlaganju njenog rešenja. U uvodnom delu rada predstavljene su osnovne odlike i razvoj empirijskog istraživanja međunarodnog prava. Potom je usledio osvrt na osnovna teorijska polazišta o ulozi međunarodnog prava. U narednim delovima rada izloženi su hipotetički okvir, metode i rezultati istraživanja. Na kraju, izvedeni su zaključci o rezultatima istraživanja i ukazano je na neophodnost širenja i razvoja znanja potrebnih za sprovođene empirijskog istraživanja međunarodnog prava i na neophodnost rasprave o njegovim mogućnostima i dometima u nauci međunarodnog prava.
