Prava deteta i dobrobit životinja

Sažetak

U svetlu globalnih društvenih i ekonomskih promena, i promena u životnoj sredini, javlja se rastuća potreba za proširenjem razumevanja i primene Konvencije o pravima deteta i na oblasti kakve su: klimatske promene, upotreba obnovljivih izvora energije, bioinžinjering, genetička istraživanja, upotreba i uticaja informacionih i komunikacijskih tehnologija, i drugo. Autori ovog rada pružaju argumente da je dobrobit životinja takav mehanizam koji direktno obezbeđuje ostvarivanje brojnih dečjih prava kao što su pravo na: život, opstanak i razvoj (član 6); zdravlje (član 24); hranu (čl. 27 i 24); higijenu (čl. 27 i 24); zaštitu od svih vidova nasilja (čl. 19 i 31); oporavak žrtvi (član 39), ciljeve obrazovanja (član 29); slobodno vreme i igru (član 31), i zdravu životnu sredinu. Autori objašnjavaju međusobnu povezanost i pružaju literaturni pregled na temu kako obezbeđivanje dobrog stanja dobrobiti životinja utiče na ostvarivanje, za ovu svrhu odabranih, dečjih prava na: zdravlje i zaštitu od svih vidova nasilja. Unapređeno zdravlje i dobrobit životinja direktno smanjuju rizik po ljudsko zdravlje kroz proizvodnju zdrave i kvalitetne hrane i smanjenju verovatnoće za prenos zaraznih bolesti zajedničkih za određene životonjske vrste i ljude. Sve veći broj naučnih dokaza govori u prilog postojanju veze između nasilja prema životinjama i nasilja među ljudima. Zlostavljanje životinja može biti indikator nasilja u porodici i zlostavljanja dece, ili ako deca zlostavljaju životinje, indikator kasnijeg agresivnog i devijantnog ponašanja. Sa druge strane, životinje imaju značajan terapeutski potencijal u procesu razvoja deteta i njegove rehabilitacije. S toga je od šireg društvenog značaja važno prepoznati međusobnu zavisnost dobrobiti životinja i dečjih prava, jer, kao što je u ovom radu dokazano, dobrobit životinja direktno pozitivno utiče na dobrobit dece i ostvarivanje njihovih prava.
