Crop rotation in cabbage production as prevention of pest organisms
Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops, Novi Sad

Cabbage (Brassica oleracea var. capitata L.) is a valuable vegetable crop in Serbia, which is often grown in monoculture. Crop rotation should provide optimal development for plants in terms of soil structure and the availability of nutrients and water. It is a very important preventive measure in the control of harmful organisms in cabbage cultivation, mainly for the causal agents of diseases, but also insects and weeds. Cabbage is the first crop in crop rotation and good previous crops are: potato, wheat and leguminous plants. The paper presents the influence of crop rotation on the occurrence of diseases, insects and weeds in cabbage production.
