The use of antibiotics in renal failure

Beside excretory role in elimination of many antibiotics, there is intensive metabolism and secretion in kidney, which is essential for normal functioning of many organs and systems. The use of antibiotics in renal failure is associated with doubled risk of both side and toxic effects. That is the reason why meticulously modificated dosing of antibiotics eliminated or metabolized by kidney is essential, particularly antibiotics with small therapic wideness as well as the ones which cumulate.
