Thermodynamic calculation of Bi-Cu-Sn phase diagram

Liquidus surfaces and isothermal section at 4000°C were calculated. The obtained results have been experimentally verified on alloy samples with compositions that correspond to the characteristic vertical sections: Cu:Sn=1, Cu:Sn=1:3, Bi:Cu=1:3, Bi:Cu=1 i Bi:Cu=3:1. The temperatures of phase transitions were determined by Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA) and Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC). Investigation of microstructure and phase composition was examined by using the Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) with Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS).
