Epidemiološke odlike tumora mozga

Sažetak
Tumori mozga čine 1,4% svih vrsta malignih tumora i 2,4% uzroka svih smrtnih slučajeva izazvanih malignim tumorom uopšte. Incidencija tumora mozga varira i viša je u razvijenim zemljama zapadne Evrope i Severne Amerike, u Australiji i na Novom Zelandu. U Srbiji, prema podacima iz 2009. godine, maligni tumori mozga čine 2,2% svih malignih tumora, a od svih smrtnih slučajeva uzrokovanih tumorima, 3,2% je uzrokovano malignim tumorima mozga. Incidencija svih primarnih benignih i malignih tumora mozga je 18,71 na 100.000 osoba godišnje. Najčešći benigni tumori su meningiomi, koji su češći kod žena, a najčešći maligni tumori su glioblastomi, koji su češći kod muškaraca. Zbog visoke smrtnosti, posebno kod bolesnika sa dijagnozom glioblastoma, postoji stalno interesovanje za razumevanje njihove etiologije, kako bi se sprečio nastanak i omogućilo efikasnije lečenje ove teške bolesti. Uprkos sve većem broju epidemioloških studija i istraživanja mogućih faktora rizika u nastanku tumora mozga, etiologija i dalje ostaje nejasna. Jedini ustanovljen faktor rizika za nastanak glijalnih tumora mozga je izlaganje jonizujućem zračenju. Izlaganje elektromagnetnom zračenju korišćenjem mobilnih telefona kao mogući uzrok nastanka tumora izazvalo je veliku pažnju, međutim, u brojnim studijama dobijeni su oprečni i nepotpuni nalazi, tako da se konačni rezultati tek očekuju.
