Abstract

The research was carried out with a purpose to determine relations of coordination with situational motoric variables of football players who are general class teaching pupils. The examinees sample consisted of 28 male pupils, young football players, general class teaching pupils from Niš, aged between 10 and 11. A system of four tests for motoric coordination and three tests for assessment of situational motoric abilities of young football players was applied. For assessment of motoric coordination, the following variables were used: agility on the ground, agility in air, quandrupedal backward walk and coordination with a stick. For assessment of situational motoric abilities the following variables were used: fast controlling of the ball on 20m, power of run-up ball kick and power of run-up header kick. Besides basic statistic parameters, for the processing of data was also used canonical correlation analysis. Taking into account that coordination activities are the prevalent ones, it was concluded that the efficient performing of tasks in football in great extent depends on situational motoric abilities of young football players. Based on the value of the correlation coefficient of the motoric coordination and the one related to the situational motoric abilities, which is .74, it can be stated that there is a high level of connection between both systems, which has also been confirmed through a percentage of mutual variance of 53%. Based on the value of the coefficient of cannonical correlation and mutual variance, a conclusion can be made that the situational motoric abilities of young football players will greatly depend on their motoric coordination.
