Indicative demonstration exposed in peer violence
Univeristy of Niš, Faculty of Philosophy

Abstract

In the era of globalization, the expansion of bullying is the dominant problem today. In the school environment, violent interaction has characteristics of group activities in which they can identify the different roles with respect to the status of power, domination, and individual characteristics of students. The aim of this theoretical-methodological research is to determine the symptoms represented among peers who are exposed to violence in elementary school. In the empirical part of the paper evaluated the attitudes of teachers about bullying, symptoms of exposure to violence (social, physical, emotional), gender differences, ways of diagnosing indicators of bullying and indicators that affect the academic achievement of students exposed to victimization. Results of the survey revealed several important differences between the perceptions of indicators of exposure to bullying students. Exposure to peer violence in primary school students is significantly different depending on the research variables of gender, class and school achievement through the prism of social, physical, emotional symptoms, as well as student academic achievement. Factorization of measuring variables indicates that it should strengthen awareness of teachers about the prospect of indicators of peer violence in the school environment, which is a good referral for new research.
