Sažetak

Najčešći uzročnik bolesti prenosivih polnim putem danas u svetu i kod nas jeste bakterija Chlamydia trachomatis. jedinstven bifazni razvojni ciklus striktan intracelulni parazitizam i zajednički genus-specifični lipopolisaharidni epitel tipični su i zajednički za sve vrste hlamidija. Chlamydia trachomatis je najčešći uzročnik mukopurulentnog cervicitisa (KOJi je obično udružen s uretritisom), endometritisa i inflamacionog oboljenja pelvisa, dok su dve najteže komplikacije genitalnih hlamidijskih infekcija sterilitet (posledica opstrukcije jajovoda) i vanmaterična trudnoća. Najveći broj hlamidijskih infekcija je asimptomski. U patogenezi hlamidijskih infekcija značajnu ulogu igraju proteini nazvani "hit šok" (heat shock) koji su imunodominantni antigeni. Najvažniju ulogu u sprečavanju nastanka inflamacionog oboljenja pelvisa i kasnijih sekvela ima sekundarna prevencija skriningom.
