Finansiranje umetnosti - neka pitanja vezana za zrelo tržište

Sažetak

Tržište umetnosti i kulture pati od prevelike ponude umetničkih dela. Posle dve decenije brzog rasta, tražnja se sada stabilizuje. Fenomen, koji je započeo tokom 1980-ih, sada predstavlja izazov za tela zadužena za dodelu sredstava za umetnost i za umetničke organizacije. U sektoru kulture se može naći ono što je Porter nazvao barijere za izlazak; umetnici će pre izabrati da skapaju od gladi nego da napuste svoje polje delatnosti. Svake godine se stvara više umetničkih društava nego što se gasi. Paralelno s tom pojavom, sistem žirija koje koriste umetnički saveti ocenjuje aplikacije za dodelu sredstava na osnovu umetničkih kriterijuma koji su vrlo usko definisani tako da favorizuju stalnu trku za inovacijama. U većini sredina, društva i umetnici, nezavisno od njihovog staža i iskustva, vrednuju se u istoj ravni sa novim akterima i poduhvatima. Možda bi trebalo osporiti ovakav način funkcionisanja. Ovaj rad proučava tri izazova s kojim se umetnički sektor suočava: zasićenje tržišta, sistem žirija i ostarelo rukovodstvo na vrhu umetničkih organizacija stvorenih pre trideset do četrdeset godina.
