Abstract
This paper identifies specific teaching methods delivered at varied degrees of difficulty as one of the most commonly used forms of individualised teaching. In particular, a focus on teaching efficiency when implementing this method in the context of Serbian language and literature teaching. Pearl Buck's 'The White and Yellow Girl' is used to demonstrate the benefits of tailoring teaching methods to meet the needs of the individual learner.
