Contributions of American theoretical thought to the disciplinary constitution of contemporary international relations
Sažetak
U radu ćemo iskazati i argumentativno dokazati presudan doprinos američke teorijske misli disciplinarnom konstituisanju savremenih međunarodnih odnosa kao politikološke discipline. Posebno ćemo razmatrati tri važna pravca teorijskog istraživanja međunarodnih odnosa, istorijskog, sistematskog i normativnog. Naročita pažnja biće posvećena liberalnoj i realističkoj školi mišljenja, i njenim najvažnijim teorijskim uvidima o karakteru međunarodnih odnosa, osobito nakon Drugog svetskog rata.
Abstract
This paper will articulate and argumentatively prove the crucial contribution of American theoretical thought to the disciplinary constitution of contemporary international relations as a discipline in political science. In particular, we will consider three important directions of theoretical research of international relations - historical, systematic and normative. We will pay special attention to the liberal and realistic school of thought and its most important theoretical insights concerning the character of international relations, especially after the Second World War.
