Kinect technology in biometrics systems
Multimodal Biometry in Identity Management (MESTD - 32013)

This paper is presenting Kinect technology and it's potential uses in biometrics systems. Kinect can use image, array of points or voice as an input data. Since version 1.5 Kinect can recognize face. All these characteristics are making it interesting in a process of biometric data acquisition. Since data is collected with very little user interaction Kinect is allowing nonintrusive biometric data acquisition. This way of acquisition is more and more used by the developers of biometric systems since it can overcome some of the difficulties with intrusive acquisition. This paper is presenting an application for biometric gait data acquisition and several use cases where such acquisition can be applied.
