Theoretical basis and functions of physical education in elementary school
The affiliation is not available

Abstract

Our pedagogical theory, as well as all other documents dealing with the social status of physical education, share the opinion that this education is an integral part of general education. It is certain, however, that physical training has its specific features too, by which it differs from other aspects of education and by which its relative independence is justified. Setting of the theoretical basis of physical exercise was possible thanks to most recent scientific discoveries and knowledge, especially in the field of anatomy, physiology, biochemistry etc., since in this way the man got to know his own self more profoundly, and therefore discovered the essence of physiological, psychological, sociological and other processes which are in progress in the course of physical exercises performing. The work brings the basic theoretical aspects of physical training, as well as of the function of the physical education in view of physical development, health, socialisation of an individual and creativity.
