Kontrola resursa pijaće vode kao izvor regionalnih sukoba

Sažetak

Voda je nezaobilazan i veoma bitan faktor društvenog i ekonomskog razvoja svake zemlje. Sve više se javlja i kao deficitaran resurs na globalnom nivou. Potrebe za pijaćom vodom enormno brzo rastu zbog antropogenih faktora: porasta svetske populacije, uvećanog obima privrednih i industrijskih aktivnosti i klimatskih promena. Imajući to u vidu, nameće se kao imperativ da je upravljanje resursima pijaće vode bitan i važan zadatak vremena kojem živimo. Tokom istorije ljudskog društva količina i kvalitet ovog resursa na Zemlji se konstantno smanjivao, pri čemu je došlo do porasta tenzija i napetosti između država. Težnja da se ostvari dominacija nad oskudnim resursima pijaće vode u aridnim i subaridnim regionima imala je za posledicu uvećan broj konfliktnih situacija koje su se često rešavale upotrebom sile. U radu su posebno naglašeni: uloga, značaj i stanje resursa pijaće vode u svetu, faktori i činioci koji ugrožavaju njene raspoložive resurse, kao i porast tenzija, konflikata i regionalnih sukoba oko kontrole nad preostalim resursima pijaće vode.
