Sažetak
Virusni arteritis konja (EAV) predstavlja respiratorno, virusno, kontagiozno oboljenje ekvida, a uzročnik je virus iz roda Arterivirus (EVA). Oboljenje karakterišu lezije u malim krvnim sudovima, posebno arteriolama.
Abstract
Equine viral arteritis virus (EAV) is a respiratory, viral, contagious disease of equines and the caused by a virus of the genus Arterivirus (EVA). The disease is characterized by lesions in small vessels, especially arterioles. The disease usually runs as subclinical or acute. EAV infection can cause flu-like symptoms or respiratory symptoms in adult horses, abortion in pregnant mares, interstitial pneumonia in young foals, and persistent infection in stallions. Infection is possible only in equines and it is transmitted horizontally, either by aerosol or respiratory infection of susceptible horses or in natural or artificial insemination of mares with persistently infected stallions. Since serological tests have been developed serum neutralization test (SN), indirect immunofluorescence, agar gel immunodiffusion and ELISA test, and is currently the most commonly used are ELISA and SN test (Timoney, 2008; OIE 2008). In this study blood samples were collected from seven mares, which are used for mating. Serum neutralization test showed that there are 5 animals with a positive finding which is 71.43% of positive animals in the herd. Animals that have a positive antibody titers were repeatedly thought alike, all animals had reproductive problems but only one head came to abortion. Animals that have negative findings were first thought alike. For them, even though they stick together with other throats, there was no horizontal transmission of the virus. Positive animals exhibit some reproductive problems that can, but not exclusively, be attributed to this virus.
