Sažetak
Ovaj rad je motivisan trenutnom visokom stopom nezaposlenosti među mladima, nakon diplomiranja u Nigeriji, koja je takođe i posledica nedovoljnog izlaganja studenata razvoju praktičnih preduzetničkih veština. Cilj je u razvoju modela tripartitnog partnerstva (javne institucije, privatne institucije i studenti), kako bi se razvile veštine koje bi povećale zapošljivost studenata, nakon diplomiranja, na nigerijskim univerzitetima.U cilju sakupljanja podataka primenjena je metoda upitnika, kao i ne-parametarska statistička analiza u cilju procene percepcije preduzetništva na uzorku od 480 studenata univerziteta u jugoistočnim i južnim regionima Nigerije. Rezultati su pokazali da su studenti koji su bili uključeni u saradnju na nivou van-nastavne aktivnosti, imali prilike da budu vođeni od iskusnih poslovnih lidera koji razmišljaju kao preduzetnici. Ovakva iskustva, van okvira učionica, omogućila su studentima razvoj kritičnih personalnih osobina kao i veština poslovnog upravljanja, koje su korisne za pokretanje sopstvenog biznisa nakon diplomiranja. Na nesreću, ovo nije slučaj sa studentima koji nisu uključeni u ovakve dodatne van-nastavne aktivnosti.
Abstract
This study is motivated by the current high rate of graduates' unemployment in Nigeria, occasioned by poor exposure of students to practical entrepreneurial skills development. The objective is to develop a tripartite partnering (public institutions, private institution and the students) model for employability skills development in Nigerian universities. The paper employed survey method for data collection and non-parametric statistics for exploration of entrepreneurial perception of 480 students' drawn from eight universities in the South East and South regions of Nigeria. The result shows that students that engaged in practical and collaborative entrepreneurial extra curricula activities have had opportunities to be mentored by experienced entrepreneurial minded academic and business leaders. The out-of-classroom experiences equipped them with critical personality traits and business management skills favourable to entrepreneurial venturing upon graduation. Unfortunately, this is not the case for students who are not involved in such extra curricula entrepreneurial activities.
