Članak prati hronologiju dešavanja vezanih za olimpijske igre u Sidneju i obuhvata period od nekoliko godina pre, same igre i period neposredno posle igara. Taj period je gledano iz perspektive kajakaša posebno zanimljiv, zato što je doneo novine vezane za opremu, tehniku veslanja i pravila takmičenja. Period pre igara opisuje pojavu novih modela čamaca i dešavanja na važnijim takmičenjima na kojima su nastupali i naši takmičari. Olimpijske igre su bile izuzetno zanimljive zbog mogućnosti da se na licu mesta vidi primena novih modela čamaca i adaptacija tehnike veslanja najboljih svetskih kanuista i kajakaša. Navedeni su pojedini rezultati, između ostalog i jugoslovenskih takmičara koji su nastupali na igrama. Postolimpijska godina je opisana kroz komentar o izmeni pravila i načina kako je do promena došlo opisani su najnoviji modeli čamaca koji su u skladu sa novim pravilima ICF-a (ukinuta su širinska ograničenja čamaca). Pomenuto je trenutno stanje u jugoslovenskom kajaku i priložen Je spisak većih međunarodnih takmičenja u 2001. godini.
Abstract
The article follows the chronology of events related to the Olympic Games in Sydney and includes the period of several years before, the games themselves and the period immediately after the games. That period, observed from the prospective of kayakers is very interesting, because it brought the innovations regarding equipment, rowing technique and competition rules. The period before the Games is described by appearing of new models of boats and events at major competitions at which our competitors took part. The Olympic games were exceptionally interesting thanks to the opportunity to see at the spot the application of new boat models and adaptation of the rowing techniques of the best world canoeist and kayakers. Some individual results among others of the Yugoslav participants at the games as well, are listed. The post Olympic year was described through a comment on modification of rules and the way these changes occurred, the latest boat models that are in accordance with new ICF rules were described (width restrictions of boats are cancelled). The current state in Yugoslav kayak was mentioned and the list of the greatest international competitions in 2001 was enclosed.
