J. Ratzinger's creation theology: The Christian doctrine of creating the world against the challenges of modernity
University of Belgrade, Faculty of Orthodox Theology

e-mail: zmatic@bfspc.bg.ac.rs

Abstract

Joseph Ratzinger has been intensively engaged about the theme of the creation of the world since the early 1980's and the problems of creaturehood, the place of man in the created world, the original sin and the consequence of creation and fall do not cease to attract his attention for the next thirty years. In this article, the author tries to present Ratzinger's vision of the above-mentioned topics in the context of the key question: is the faith in the creation of the world sustainable in the front of the challenges of scientific-technological civilization and what are the implications of the answer "for the life of the world".
