Implikacije teorije višestruke inteligencije u nastavi stranog jezika
Implication of the multiple intelligence in teaching a foreign language
Abstract
Theory of multiple intelligence states that all the people have their own profiles of intelligence created from eight basic sorts, which determine their styles of learning. It is important that teachers recognize the fact that cognitive styles of students differ, so that they should apply different techniques and activities so that they can satisfy needs of the students and make the teaching process easier. In the paper, there are briefly described basic types of intelligence in accordance with Gardner's theory, and then the significance of this theory has been illustrated for teaching a foreign language. Using different activities, methods and forms of work which are suitable for the different types of intelligence, maximal results are achieved in the teaching process. Teaching activities proposed in the paper are in accordance with the type of intelligence and they contribute to efficient planning of teaching which will satisfy the needs both of students and of teachers.
