Effectiveness of different types of sugarbeet inoculation

Abstract
Plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PQPR) are a group of diverse soil bacteria which stimulate the growth of the host plant. It has been shown thatAzotobacter may be used as a biofertilizer for increasing the yield and improving technological characteristics of sugarbeet. In 2003, the Commission for Registration of Fertilizers approved the production and marketing of NS-Betafixin - a microbial fertilizer for sugarbeet devel- oped on the basis of Azotobacter chroococcum strains. The objective of this study was to assess the effectiveness of two types of NS-Betafixin application to sugarbeet. The study has been conducted in the locations Hovi Sad, Sombor and Kikinda, using three Azotobacter chroococcum strains isolated from sugarbeet rhizosphere and three sugarbeet hybrid varieties (Sara, Lara and Drena).
Sažetak
Rizobakterije koje pospešuju biljni rast (PGPR) predstavljaju vrlo raznovrsne zemljišne bakterije, koje u asocijaciji sa biljkom domaćinom rezultiraju u stimulaciji rasta domaćina. Cilj naših ispitivanja bio je da se utvrdi efekat dva načina primene NS-Betafixina kod šećerne repe. Proučavanja su izvedena na lokalitetima Novi Sad, Sombor i Kikinda sa tri soja Azotobacter chroococcum izolovana iz rizosfere šećerne repe i tri hibridne sorte šećerne repe (Sara Lara i Drena). Sojevi Azotobacter 5, 8 i 14 su odabrani jer su u prethodnim ispitivanjima pokazali najbolju asocijativnost sa ispitivanim sortama šećerne repe. Tečna kultura smeše navedena tri soja NS - Betafixina gustine 109/cm3 aplicirana je na zemljište u dozi od 14 l/ha neposredno pre setve, uz istovremenu inkorporaciju. Dodavanjem NS - Betafixina došlo je do povećanja prinosa korena šećerne repe za 7%, (5 t/ha). Primena NS - Betafixina izazvala je povećanje prinosa kristalnog šećera za 6%,(600 kg/ha). Primena NS-Betafixina povećala je broj Azotobacter u rizosferi šećerne repe za 50 85 %.
