Abstract

In this paper is analyzed structural characteristics of biomass pellet machinery. Describes the technological process of pressing chopped biomass. There were two basic types of press tools: ring and flat die (matrix). Explains how to use certain types of dies depending on the type and condition of chopped biomass. Analyzes of different shapes and dimensions of the holes dies, depending on the type of raw material for extrusion. Mounting holes in the dies can be cylindrical, square, oval and conical. Dimensions of openings along the length of the channel can be constant or variable. It reviews the different types of rollers for pressing. It was found that certain types of plant material is sized differently and therefore require suitable structural parameters for pressing. Easily be compressed sawdust, fibrous material, which is good selfstick and harder pressed to agricultural biomass, bulky, uneven and fragmented structure, with less fiber and with increased moisture content. Too, dry biomass is also hard pressed, so it need to pre- condition the raw material.
