Rendal Kolins i makroistorija društvenih promena kao povratak klasičnom teorijskom nasleđu u sociologiji

Sažetak
U radu se analizira makroistorija društvenih promena u delu Rendala Kolinsa, sa posebnim fokusom na fenomene revolucija i fenomen sociogeneze etniciteta, odnosno nacionalizma, amerikanizacije i balkanizacije. Ovaj aspekt njegovog rada jeste od posebnog značaja i zato što je Kolins prepoznatljiv prvenstveno kao teoretičar radikalne mikrosociologije i društvene interakcije. Međutim, pišući o makroistoriji i koristeći komparativno-istorijsku analizu, tvrdimo da Kolins stvara specifičnu makrosociološku teoriju društvenih promena, odnosno makrosociologiju revolucija i makrosociologiju etniciteta. U tom smislu, u radu se problematizuju i (među)odnos istorije i sociologije, ali i budućnost etniciteta i nacionalizma, kao i poreklo etnički motivisanog nasilja nakon sloma socijalističkih država (poput Jugoslavije). Najzad, ističe se da Kolinsova makroistorija društvenih promena, odnosno njegove strukturne teorije revolucija i nacionalizma, pozivaju na novo čitanje i na povratak klasičnom teorijskom nasleđu u sociologiji, na prvom mestu teorijama Vebera i Dirkema.
