Business statistics today
University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Agriculture

The paper points significance, problems and particularities of business statistics in the current conditions of social development. The business statistics contains numerous simple methods just as complicated ones, adapted to business requires. Also it uses some techniques without theoretical base. It was find out that the classical inference concepts are not sufficient for decision making in business. So, in solving practical problems, the decision theory based on Bayesian theorem, where the combination of subjective and objective criterion is applied, is more adequate. The paper also points the need of introducing business statistics in teaching programs at more universities than it is now present, and its connection with business problems in practice.
