The influence of the chosen simulatory methods on improvement of maximal running speed
University of Belgrade, Faculty of Sports and Physical Education

Abstract

The researches until now showed that improvement of maximal running speed is possible only by applying the simulatory process in specific speed and coordination conditions aimed at development of speed-powerful abilities. Pursuant to the prior statement the subject of this research is improvement of maximal running speed influenced by the two chosen methods - rapid excitations and force generation. Simulated stimulus should have contributed the increase of one of the basic factors of maximal running speed - step frequency, insofar as time duration of the phase contact with surface will decrease. On the sample of 19 students of the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education of the University of Belgrade, upon the application of the experimental stimulus, the changes of kinematic and dynamic features while running at maximal speed at the section of 20 m with 'flying' start were analyzed. The research results proved that a statistically significant (p<0,05) improvement of maximal running speed occurred with both groups of examinees, which was the general aim of the research.
