Sažetak
U prvom delu rada razmatra se problem političke participacije žena u globalnom kontekstu. Pored strukturalnih i kulturnih barijera, analiziraju se i glavne političke pretpostavke za šire ukljičavanje žena u politički život. Daje se pregled različitih koncepcija u literaturi oko načina kako žene treba da budu predstavljene. Ukazuje se na sve veći značaj političkih faktora - tipa političke kulture, vrste i strukture izbornog sistema, nivoa partijske kompetitivnosti, odnosno broja partija u skupštini i njihove ideološke različitosti, broja kandidata, odnosno partijske i oblasne magnitude, kvotnog sistema - za povećanje prisustva žena u parlamentarnom životu. U završnom delu rada daje se prikaz participacije žena u predstavničkim telima i u procesu odlučivanja na globalnom nivou i u postsocijalističkim zemljama.
