Kognitivno funkcionisanje edukativno zapuštene dece predškolskog uzrasta

Sažetak
Istraživanje je obuhvatilo 96 romskih učenika prvog razreda, prosečne starosti 7 godina i 6 meseci, kao i 78 dece predškolskog uzrasta (prosek 6 godina i 1 mesec), od čega je 37 bilo Roma i 41 ne-Roma. Kognitivno funkcionisanje testirano je baterijom od 5 testova koja je bila bazirana na (adaptiranim) Wechslerovim skalama, kao i testom lingvističke kompetencije. Rezultati su pokazali značajno zaostajanje romske dece za kontrolnom grupom i normama. Analiza kovarijanse je ukazala na značajan uticaj obrazovanja oca na testovno postignuće, ali je razlika između grupa ostala značajna čak i kada je ova varijabla držana pod kontrolom. Međutim, ajtem analizom je uočen jedan broj stavki koji se pokazao kao izrazito "nefer" prema romskoj deci i njihova eliminacija doprinela je anuliranju razlike između grupa u analizama kovarijanse za jedan broj testova. Ovaj podatak autori uzimaju kao dokaz potrebe i mogućnosti adaptacije testova za potrebe ispitivanja edukativno zapuštene dece. Činjenicu da su najveće razlike uočene u testovima zasićenim faktorima vizuo-motorne koordinacije i memorije,autori objašnjavaju odsustvom iskustva manipulacije igračkama kod romske dece i verovatnim deficitom pažnje kao posledici odsustva stimulativne sredine.
