Abstract
The authors attempted to systematize knowledges and show the importance of using the boronizing procedure as thermal diffusion procedure to increase the life of machine elements, depending on the construction and type and operating conditions. This paper describes the basic principles for the process boronizing which is used primarily to increase the resistance to abrasive wear mechanism. In addition to the above, the authors pointed to the current state and development perspectives of the proceedings boronizing, citing the specific examples of its application at the current level of knowledge. The authors also noted the big difference between scientific research and industrial practice, which is especially distincted overseas, where, because of that, projects of secondary education are supported and initiated the development of surface engineering. This supports not only the application of boronizing, but other processes of modification, which use achieved a multiple increase stability and durability of metal machine elements, which contributes to a significiant increase in quality treated part and economic production. The results indicate the expediency of production boronizing elements, which are not very dynamic strain and which during operation do not suffer strain at break, for use in conditions which require extreme resistance to wear.
