Abstract
This paper presents historically accepted concepts of the importance of practical exercises in professional training of teachers. This is followed by the presentation of so-called teaching-method practice of students and its organization at the Teachers' Training Faculty in Sombor. AH this helped the author to suggest certain improvements in its organization, as well as in the practical work of students at teachers' training faculties. The author has tried to affirm a teaching-method laboratory as a place where future teachers can simulate or play a teacher's role. In the author's opinion, this is the best way for them to get back information concerning their teaching competency (from their teachers, fellow students and video materials). What are most important, students can realize the ways of how and in what direction they should act (by work, by improvement, and similar), in order to develop required characteristics of a good teacher and to achieve their own educational style.
