Abstract
Background: Basic objective of many restoration procedures is to make adhesion between two different surfaces: the mineralized dental surface and the restoration material. The modern concept of restorative techniques at dental hard tissue prefer use of adhesives, physically-chemical and biocompatibility materials. Aim of this, in vitro, study is to compare the surfaces and also the strength of bonding between hard dentine tissue and adhesive system from one side, and glass ionomer cement from another side. Material and methods: For this experiment we used 52 human, intact teeth, extracted because of orthodontic reasons. Depending of the way of preparing we divided the teeth samples in two groups, • I group: At 20 teeth we performed preparation of hard dentine tissue (enamel and dentine). After we apply adhesive system and composite, according to manufacturer's instruction (37% Phosphoric acid, Excite and Tetric Ceram) • II group: At another 20 teeth, after preparation of hard dentine tissue we apply base from glass ionomer (Fuji IX) and than adhesive system and composite (sandwich technique). At all 40 samples were measure the shear bond strength of adhesive system. Other 12 teeth samples (6 each group), after debonding we observed with SEM (scanning electronically microscope). Results: The shear bond strength of the adhesive sealing was 3,33- 10,31 MPa, and 2,34 - 8,82MPa, respectively. At one SEM picture from first group, and two at second group, we obtain presence of micro-leakage; between adhesive system and composite material, and between hard dental tissue and glass ionomer cement (Fuji IX).
