Inventory logistics system as the part of the supply chain: A case study

In this paper, we deal with modeling a production/distribution problem to determine efficient integration of production, distribution and inventory system so that products are produced and distributed at the right quantities in order to minimize system wide costs while satisfying all demand required. In the research we consider a single-manufacturer single-buyer supply chain problem where the manufacturer orders raw materials from supplier, converts the raw materials in to finishing goods, and finally delivers the finishing goods to the customer (buyer). To solve the problem, we propose a inventory model that was developed and which describes the performance of supply chains based on their elasticity of supply and demand.
