RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology uses radio frequency or magnetic field variations to store and remotely retrieve data attached to an item using devices called RFID tags. In past several years RFID technology had a significant impact on electronic toll collecting; on tracking chassis, containers, and other assets; on the railroad and shipping industries; and more. This technology delivers advantages to the logistics industry, including traceability of assets within the supply chain, optimum order management and improved product availability. In the future RFID logistic solutions will use RFID technology throughout the complete supply chain.
