Abstract
In the process of the world market globalization, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMES) have managed to achieve a position of an indispensable element in the development of the national economy. Owing to their characteristics such as flexibility, easier application of new management trends, better communication within the enterprise, etc., the development of the SME sector has become an imperative for all countries aspiring to adapt their economies to new market conditions. Striving to survive on the market SMEs have constantly to work on improving their production processes which in turn leads to an even better product/service.
