Equipment and processing technology for biomass pelleting

Abstract
In our country, the market for biomass pellets has not yet been established. This paper points out that that biomass pelleting is the future. The method for production of pellets from wood and agricultural residues is reviewed, and development of domestic equipment for biomass pelleting is analyzed. The paper also reviews technology for biomass pellet production. Special emphasis is placed on equipment for biomass pelleting: presses, cylinders, matrices, tools, and other equipment. technological schemes of biomass pelleting are also presented, followed by conditions for optimal operation of pelleting machines. Authors' long-standing experience in development of biomass pelleting process in our country are reviewed. the paper concludes with the directions for further development of biomass pelleting and suggestions for establishment of domestic market for fuel pellets.
