Multicriteria evaluation of nominal convergence of V4 countries and Slovenia using Promethee type methods

Abstract
Conclusion: Nevertheless the problem is very much simplified, the candidate countries ranking in our sample, based on the PROMETHEE type methods, clearly communicate the state of readiness of individual countries to enter the euro zone, as far as nominal convergence criteria are concerned. The results of this analysis very much correspond also to individual official announcements of horizons when these sample countries would like to adopt euro. Since all these countries would like to do so as soon as they fulfill the nominal convergence criteria, no wonder that these horizons more or less copy the state of their ranking from our test. Slovenia, which usually ranks first among the sample candidates aims to adopt euro as soon as in 2008, Poland and Slovakia in 2008/9 and Czech republic and Hungary just recently reassessed their strategy again and postponed their plans to join the eurozone to 2010.
