Sažetak
U ovom radu autori se bave analizom mentalnog zdravlja kao vrstom društvenog kapitala koji, kao resurs, ima svoju društvenu i ekonomsku cenu. Predočeni su značajni sociološki doprinosi u proučavanju mentalnog zdravlja, čime je skrenuta pažnja na legitimno sociološko bavljenje ovom temom. Posebno je preispitana politika mentalnog zdravlja koja se razvijala u domenu biopolitike novog biološkog poretka i profilisana je kao "psihopolitika", a bez koje se ne može razumeti savremeni koncept brige o mentalnom zdravlju. Izneti su relevantni podaci o globalnoj epidemiološkoj situaciji, koja upozorava da mentalna bolest više nije ograničena na manje grupe predisponiranih osoba, već predstavlja glavni problem javnog zdravlja sa značajnim posledicama po društvo u celini.
