Improvement of the risk assessment of the implementation of railway digitalization using SWOT - FMEA method

Abstract
Digitalization is a worldwide trend with application in all areas of business. In the case of rail transport and transport, the digitalization leads to a significant increase in the railway modal share and railway level of competitiveness in the transport market. In order to successful implement railway digitalization into existing rail system, proper testing and feasibility analysis must be carried out. This paper proposes the application of SWOT analysis to identify the characteristics of digitalization elements. After identifying potential threats to the digitalization process, a risk assessment was conducted using the FMEA method.
