The role and significance of management in education
Sažetak
Globalno gledano, svet je u stanju promena, a obrazovanje je njihov ključni činilac. Nova znanja otkrivaju nove horizonte i traže nova angažovanja u implementaciji promena. Promene zahtevaju veće aktivnosti menadžera u okviru procesa obrazovanja, odnosno u svim sferama života koje sistem obrazovanja mogu učiniti efikasnijim i efektivnijim. Obrazovanje u Srbiji mora da prođe kroz promene koje su se već desile u razvijenim zemljama, jer živimo u društvu znanja i ekonomiji znanja. Jačanje uloge menadžera u obrazovanju je od velike važnosti, naročito za društva u tranziciji, kao što je naše. Obrazovanje predstavlja 'centralni nervni sistem" svakog društva - vaspitni, obrazovni, kulturni lanac koji neprestano vibrira. U tom lancu, značajna karika, pored vaspitača, učitelja, profesora i drugih, treba da bude obrazovan i vešt menadžer. Opšte je poznato da se od menadžera zahteva da poseduje sposobnost za inovativnost i upravljanje u delu planiranja, organizovanja, koordinacije i kontrole izvršavanja delatnosti obrazovnih institucija.
Abstract
Globally, the world is changing, and education is a key factor of those changes. New findings reveal new horizons and demand new engagements in the implementation of the said changes. Changes require broader activities in the area of education and in all aspects of life that can enhance efficiency and effectiveness of education. The education in Serbia needs to go through changes that have already occurred in higher developed countries, because we live in the society and economy of knowledge. Strengthening of management in education is of great importance, especially for societies and economies in transition like Serbia. Education represents the 'central nerve system" of every society - the educational and cultural network that constantly vibrates. Besides teachers, professors, and educators, skilled and educated managers are also very important. It is well-known that managers have to be innovative and to possess skills related to planning, organization, coordination and monitoring the implementation of activities in education institutions.
