Geneza australijske imigracione politike

Sažetak
Australija je tipična zemlja emigracije. Prema tome, veliki problem australijskog društva predstavlja problem prilagođavanja emigranata. Ovi dolaze u novu zajednicu i suočavaju se s tri tipa problema. Prvi od njih tiče se prvog perioda prilagođavanja na novu sredinu. kada se taj period uspešno okonča imigrant stiče osećaj zadovoljstva sa svojim novim životom. To čini osnovu razvijanja osećaja pripadnosti novoj zajednici. Ako je taj osećaj razvijen može se reći da je imigrant razvio osećaj identifikacije do stepena asimilacije. Kada dođe do osnovnih promena u stavovima, verovanjima i ponašanju za imigranta kao člana nove grupe može se reći da se asimilovao do stepena akulturacije.
