Old bridges on roads in Macedonia: Condition, need and methods for their strengthening
Sažetak
Od 1999. godine, poseban inter-katedarski tim Građevinskog fakulteta Univerziteta u Skopju intenzivno je radio na konstruktivnim analizama nosivosti i projektima za ojačanje ukupno 20 mostova na magistralnim putevima M-1 (E-75) i M-2 (E-870) kroz Makedoniju. Prema konstruktivnom sistemu, periodu izgradnje i tehničkim propisima primenjenim za njihovo projektovanje i izgradnju, može se smatrati da oni reprezentuju mnoge mostove u širem geografskom regionu. Dobijeni rezultati predstavljaju vrlo vredna saznanja i iskustva i implicitno su inicirali izradu preliminarne analize za ocenu stanja putnih mostova u Makedoniji izgrađenih do 1991. god. i potrebe za njihovo ojačanje za aktuelna opterećenja. U radu su prikazani neki važniji aspekti preliminarne studije, uključujući rokove i preliminamu ocenu troškova za ojačanje i popravku mostova. Koristeći rezultate iz konstruktivnih analiza i projektovanja, prikazani su osnovni principi proračuna ojačanja primenom CFRP sistema, tehnički uslovi za izvođenje radova na ojačanju i, na kraju, neke rezultate ispitivanja probnim opterećenjem reprezentativnih mostova u neojačanom (početnom) i ojačanom stanju.
Abstract
Starting from 1999, an inter-department team from the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the University in Skopje has been intensively working on the structural analyses of load bearing capacity and design for strengthening of a total of 20 bridges on national roads M-1 (E-75) and M-2 (E-870) in Macedonia. Taking into account the structural system and period of construction as well as technical regulations applied for their design and construction, it could be considered that these bridges represent a large number of bridges in wider geographic region. The obtained results present very valuable knowledge and experience and implicitly initiated the performance of a preliminary study for evaluation of both condition of road bridges in Macedonia constructed up to 1991 and need of their strengthening for actual loadings. In this paper some more important aspects of the preliminary study are presented, including dead lines and preliminary cost estimate for strengthening and repair works. Using the results from the structural analyses and design, basic principles of calculation of strengthening applying CFRP systems, technical specifications for execution of strengthening and some results from trial testing of representative bridges in un-strengthened (original) and strengthened condition are also presented.
