Relation problems in esthetics and pedagogy in literature for children and youth

Abstract
An esthetic dimension in its widest sense is visible in literature for children, being its integral part and content along with the esthetic, educational-didactic and other components. Moral and humane values, thoughts and proverbs have always been a topic in literature; life experience and life wisdom have also been a constant form of expression in literature and art in general. The begging's of Serbian literature for children - the works of folk narrators, the fairy tales and the fables by its forerunner J.J. Zmaj and his followers, all reflect a strong humane, didactic and educational note which, at the very best of them, was not subdued to literary artistic values they were creating. There is no doubt that even today one of the functions of this kind of literature is to present and interpret what in other ways is not able to interpret the ever-lasting moral, esthetic and pedagogic values.
