According to the author of this text, Weber's understanding of power is the most important point in his sociology of authority. It is not possible to understand Weber's concept of politics or his definition of state without the category of power. Great importance has Weber's distinction of power and authority. In this text special attention is paid to Weber's analysis of authority legitimacy, as this issue is of great importance to political sociology. In this text are shown in details the most important features of all three types of legitimacy: rational-bureaucratic, traditional and charismatic. The second part of the text deals with issues of social division of power within which are presented Weber's views on classes and castes, as well as political parties.
